Potty Training
Sometimes our kids are ready to start wearing underpants and using a potty or toilet way earlier than we expect. And sometimes earlier than we, as parents are ready for!
One of the main tasks for our little ones is to learn to inhabit their physical body with control and coordination. This learning is happening from the time they are born, and using the bathroom is just one of many milestones (e.g., grasping, turning over, sitting, crawling, and walking) along the way. In fact, wearing underwear instead of diapers can help the graceful development of walking and running!
Here at NR, we're teaching a down-to-earth, non-invasive way to help children develop their potty skills. In this class we'll learn how to tell when our child is ready, what supplies are needed, and how to help our little ones learn to pee/poop in the potty or toilet in a way which is natural, unemotional, friendly and effective.
To get the most out of this class, we kindly ask parents not bring your little ones along.
About our instructor - Sarah Hummingbird
Sarah Hummingbird is a Montessori & Waldorf trained early childhood specialist, Infant Massage Instructor, Certified Postpartum Doula,and Certified Lactation Counselor. Sarah will share information and insights gleaned from the studies of early childhood development, including Montessori, Waldorf, RIE, and more.
