Doulas will learn how to assist mothers at home or in the hospital without the need for massage tables or other equipment. Very specific techniques are taught to help a woman relax and cope with pain, stress and possible complications of labor. Doulas with these skills are often much in demand! Cost: $100 About the Instructor Bridgett Scadeng is a Certified Prenatal Massage Practitioner and Childbirth Educator. She began her career in 1976 as a Childbirth Educator, Doula and founding mother of Birthways, a non-profit resource center for expectant and new families in the East Bay. Becoming certified as a Massage Practitioner enabled her to integrate her skills and experience when working with pregnant women and mothers. Currently she maintains a private practice in the East Bay specializing in Pre and Postnatal Massage. Her teaching experience includes workshops and classes at spas, career colleges, massage schools, hospitals, conferences and doula trainings.
