Labor Support Massage For Doulas (Required for Birth Doula Training)

This class introduces some basic concepts of massage and how it can benefit the laboring woman. Doulas will learn how to assist mothers at home or in the hospital without the need for massage tables or other equipment. Very specific techniques are taught to help a woman relax and cope with pain, stress and possible complications of labor. Doulas with these skills are often much in demand!

About the Instructor
Bridgett Scadeng is a Certified Prenatal Massage Practitioner and Childbirth Educator. She began her career in 1976 as a Childbirth Educator, Doula and founding mother of Birthways, a non-profit resource center for expectant and new families in the East Bay. Becoming certified as a Massage Practitioner enabled her to integrate her skills and experience when working with pregnant women and mothers. Currently she maintains a private practice in the East Bay specializing in Pre and Postnatal Massage. Her teaching experience includes workshops and classes at spas, career colleges, massage schools, hospitals, conferences and doula trainings.
