Music With Gina Class  New Parent Groups, Classes & Workshops  (Item no: 6640) Our Price: $79.00 Availability: Click Here for Availability Quantity: Date:  Fridays, April 30 - May 21, 11:30 - 12:15 for age 0-1 Sing Along with Gina Music can play a lively and practical role in our everyday interactions with our children. It can soothe or stimulate, encourage vocal expression and language acquisition, and promote neural connections. But just as importantly, music helps us bond with and relate to our children on a level that goes beyond words. These classes provide a fun, hands-on, relaxed place to explore singing, dancing, movement, instruments and more with your children. Parents will enjoy learning new twists on old favorites while also building a larger repertoire of games and songs to play at home. About the Instructor Gina Silverman is a performer and voice teacher based in San Francisco. Gina's adventures in music began with piano lessons at age 6, and soon after she was singing in anything and everything she possibly could. She earned music degrees from Stanford University (BA 1994) and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (MM 1998). While performed leading roles throughout the Bay Area in opera, operettas and musical theater, she became a certified Kindermusik instructor and taught early childhood music classes for several years at the JCC and other nursery schools. After a hiatus from "Mommy and Me" classes (during which time she became a mom to Eva), Gina has rediscovered the joy of music-making with little ones and is thrilled to be teaching them again. Please note: This is a 4-week series and each class class will run 45 minutes and focus on age-appropriate songs, use of instruments and movement. Parents will learn a repertoire of songs to sing to and with their children at home and enjoy the interactions with their children in class. A variety of musical instruments, other than voice, will be introduce and used, as well as other "props" for learning and play. Class from 11:30 - 12:15 is for children aged 0-1, or who have NOT begun to walk yet Class from 12:30 - 1:15 is for children aged 1-3, or who HAVE begun to walk Cost: Members $60 Non-Members $79 When making your selections above, please choose a date from the drop-down menu, and specify a quantity; For this class, "quantity" means how many individuals are registering.
